The Duke and Duchess of Cornwall visit and a parade is held in Queen Street to mark the occasion. Logan Campbell gifts One Tree Hill to the City and names it Cornwall Park.

In the 1930's Auckland was feeling the full effect of a world wide Depression. The City suffered a loss of population due to the job losses and riots occured in the main streets. The effects of the Depression lasted until the next World War.

The 1940's saw Auckland celebrate with the rest of New Zealand one hundred years of nationhood since the signing of the treaty in 1840. New Zealand was at war again. and by the end of the 1940's the baby boom had began.
